About CAP 741 section 3.1
it says " a specific task should only be entered once. there is no requirement to make multiple entries for the same or similar tasks."
do those specific tasks include, transit checks, daily checks and routine things like servicing and the like ??? |
Ahmed,
Make use of the list of typical tasks at the rear of the Log Book. Make an entry for at least one Task in each ATA Chapter and don't forget to tick off those you have done - so that you don't claim twice. Try not to put Pee-Clips or Ty-Wraps in it. Do 'proper' tasks like component changes and defects. Scheduled Maintenance Tasks are okay, but try to mix the content with Line work - If you can. The aim is to demonstrate your all-round experience and training through a list of tasks completed and all to the satisfaction of your supervisors and QA staff. NOTE: You will also use this list for Type Rating experience records, so don't make a mess of it or use a photocopy of it each time you need it. Hope This Helps Rigga |
Great, so one entry of any of those tasks is enough, there is no need to put 5 entries for a wheel change and oil servicing for example.
thanks alot |
Why would you bother to keep a log book if you only want to make one entry in it?
Claim everything, every task, every element of that task and cover your options. |
That is what I was told (and did). However there comes a time when ATA 12 entries are replicating and of little interest unless its a task that I haven't done before..So I don't put down every panel, lube etc. others haven't and still have their applications accepted. I think the meduim is somewhere inbetween. I also wish I could be put into the zones where I have a shortfall of experience!:ugh:

I'm logging everything i do in another log book, I'm only asking this for my license application.

"there comes a time when ATA 12 entries are replicating and of little interest" ...I''ve never heard a National Airworthiness authority complain that an engineer has submitted too many of a single task. I believe that it shows that you are "actively engaged" in aicraft maintenance.
Claim it all, everything and claim it all again. |
