Ba Engineering Manchester
Is it true BA is cutting staff and services at Manchester does anyone have any contact names for their current contracts who do they service at manchester.
|
yes it is true unfortunately for the people there.
2nd bit is a bit cutthroat so can't say, those in the know will know. |
So right spanners, can't think that any airline would stoop so low!! Just leaves one company at MAN, no doubt they'll be offering a good deal to any engineers made redundant!!!
|
Must be from an outfit thats not being asked to take on contracts.............
|
And lives in a teacup???
|
I heard BP is pulling out of there and Birmingham too...... any truth in that?
|
Lies, Damn Lies Etc
Back off vultures!
BA are keeping all contracts. The staff numbers will be reduced at MAN but not to the numbers being bandied around the ramp. It's a dedicated bunch of Engineers with huge experience and as far as 777 work is concerned a massive logistiics back up at LHR & Cardiff. BA are the only engineering organisation offering 777 License cover at MAN. STORM are struggling to recruit. I wonder why? :ok: As for BP. My condolences to all. It's a right kick in the teeth, good luck. |
Sounds like good news for the BA guys (but no good having logistics back up that you can't get your hands on!!!). Not sure that BA are the only B777 cover at MAN though (uncle spannersatcx care to comment???)
As for the tea cup dwellers, what more can you add!!!!:ugh: |
The redundancies announced at British Airways Manchester; currently in the 90 day notice period, timed nicely for Christmas. (thoughful bunch BA)
Two managers to go. All Technicians, Stores staff and a third of the LAEs also to go. 100% of admin staff to be retained. By 31st Dec MAN will be 9 LAEs, 1 Manager & 1 Administrator. |
All Technicians, Stores staff and a third of the LAEs also to go. Negotiations are ongoing to retain more staff. Watch this space. :ok: |
Are you staff side or management? Seems to me BA's tactic is to deliver a position which they negotiate back from. They've done similar at Manchester before as they've slowly whittled it down over the last 6 yrs.
|
Meee? Management? Wash your mouth out with soap and water!
Can't disagree there Blueray. It is a typical BA management trick but we will see how it pans out. Afterall most of the old style management are taking the king's schilling anyway. Come JAN 1st BA will either fall apart or become the most efficient airline this side of MOL's ego. :hmm: |
What aircraft will there be in the Hangar next Wednesday @ 1300- 1430hrs?
|
Errrr, what hangar?
BA don't have a shed at MAN anymore. Closed in 2002. |
:=:=spannersatvs, who are you? Are you a new kid on the block?
Well, well, fancy being called spannersatVS.:\:\:ugh: |
Hey 747, hardly a new kid (over 45 so more like OAP:(), but guess still considered new at VS (less than 3 years). Can't deny that spannersatcx was the basis of my name (no we aren't related), sorry if that offends!!

In answer to the question
Not sure that BA are the only B777 cover at MAN though (uncle spannersatcx care to comment???) |
I forgot, PIA are on station with their own 777 boys. :ok:
|
CX have 777 type rated engineers as well.
|
Do they need another one? :O:ok:
