Has anyone done a FAA A&P to T.C. Conversion? What has to be done?
Thanks for info and yes I am a bit lazy to search the www...... Cheers, bitmonx |

Some guys are lazy BUT some just don't know - its not like you can phone up Aviation House and get a straight answer here in the UK right?! Anyway, Bitmonx follow the link below and get the contacts for TC AME licencing dept. The link to 'the licencing of foreign AMEs' appears inop. AME Licensing and Training It least its a start BAe146? :{:{:{ |
Nice one "BAe146s make me cry" - Bitmonx follow the links and you can make it work. I might have to give that a go meself....
Curious handle you have there "BAe146s make me cry";although having watched the AirCal crowd fight with their 146's every day, I think I can understand it. |

I absolutely hated them when I first started working on them... Soldered Raychem connectors, Yaw Damper issues, Flap ECU/ Flap Control Unit faults, odd AC bus faults, various mods - 8.33, Pannier tanks, GNS-XLS etc. I eventually grew to like them..The tears being closer linked to laughter now! It paid off to give the BAe146 Training books extra attention & importantly learn the a/c throughout. As WOTME will confirm - the 146 is a contractor's goldmine! BAe146?? :{:{:{ |

BAe146s make me cry
When we first got them at Dan's, they were so unreliable we seemed to be sending another DH/HS product, our 15 year old Comets all over Europe to rescue them. It seemed like on more than one occasion we'd have one grounded somewhere because it had multiple starters busted. They'd leave LGW in the morning with at least two in the FAK, and they'd both be used when and if it came back that night. As I recall AirCal had eight of them and they'd keep two for operational spares; by the end of the day they were usually down to two flying. Course they didn't have much in the way of parts and AA wasn't particularly interested in providing them so that probably didn't help. The AirCal boys and girls used to party a lot and I used to wonder why - until I got to be around their 146's that is. |
Thanks to all of you for replying (yes, many thanks also to 747. I love you already....).
