Lo-Co Aircraft Maintenance

Who actually carries out the Light and Heavy Maintenance for the major Lo-Co airlines, for example :-

Ryanair
Easyjet
Jet2
Globespan
Flybe
etc etc

I assume that most of these carriers sub-contract their maintenance to third party maintenance companies, I would be very interested to learn where this maintenance is actually carried out.

Ryanair do their own, Easyjet use either Easytech or SR Technics, Jet 2 do their own, Globespan don't usually bother with maintenance, but when they have to, they use Storm and Flybe do their own also.

Flybe do there own service and Heavy Maintenance as they are the european regional service center for Bombardier,Embraer and BAe.

Lo-Co Aircraft Maintenance

Thank you for your reply's so far.

I am not a journalist, my father was a Licensed Aircraft Engineer for 40 years and I have an interest in Commercial Aviation.

I thought it would be interesting to find out what approach the various Lo-Co carriers had taken to maintenance requirements.

Thats easy, the cheaper the better!!
