Gas Couple:

As in a PT6: prop is driven by Gas couple,( Gas generator) Hot expanding gas through a stator system & power turbine.
QUESTION:
Would this still work if the distance between the gas generator and the turbine was "Greater". IE exhaust system is somewhat "longer".:hmm:

Hello hogg,

Sure it can work if the section between the CT turbine and the power static vane ring stays convergent. but a greater distance means longer exhaust and gas generator cases so an heavier engine and further a higher fuel consumption for the A/C. the first target for an A/c engine maker is to designe the lightest engine he can witch produces the requested power.

Over coming inertia:

How do to measure the inertia in a system:
Is there a way to measure the expansion/force/HP available from expanding gas'es.
