any dimensions. is it made of steel or Aluminum. a part number on it?

085781 25th July 2007 17:02

exact dimensions i am not sure but the length is around 2 feet long. Material is steel. Part number i am also not sure

LPS500 25th July 2007 17:53

I'm pretty sure its from a 737 MLG. Found on the front of the shock strut and connects to the lower side brace, to the inner MLG door, and also holds the roller for the uplock. If I'm right I believe it's called a universal side strut fitting.

Mr.Brown 25th July 2007 20:25

You are Spot on LPS500,
It connects the Side strut, Drag strut and shock strut.

IFixPlanes 26th July 2007 06:58

LPS500 is absolutely correct.
I find this UNIVERSAL ASSY in our AIPC at 32-11-42-01A

Item 25
- 65-46106-8 or
- 65-46106-10 or
- 65-46106-12
The PN of your picture looks like a dash 5.
So it must be the same part but i do not know if they are interchangeable.

IFixPlanes 26th July 2007 09:10

But http://www.b737.org.uk/landinggear.htm shows a 737 NG landing gear.

does anyone have extra information on this part or any internet sites explaning this component..
The term "bogus part" comes up in my mind when i read this kind of question.

But OK.
"Extra information" under http://www.boeing.com/commercial/spares/part_page.html

"explaining" this component:
It connects "shock strut", "drag strut", "side strut" and the inner door with the "uplock roller" who hold the gear up in flight.

shows a 737 NG landing gear.
Quite right IFix.You're the man.:ok: Never ask an avionics guy a 'heavy' question.

PS. What will the NG be called in 30 years

What will the NG be called in 30 years
NG ;)

and the newer:p planes like:
ENG (even[or enhanced] newer generation)
NTENG (newer then even[or enhanced] newer generation)
FG (final generation)
AFG (absolut final generation)

B737 forever... :E

thanks

IFixPlanes 29th July 2007 17:11

@ bhaskardevb

What aircraft are you referring to?

Salusa 1st August 2007 09:19

Its a 1st Generation Nano-Mechanical centrifugal connecting rod, with side linear/bi-linear/de-polarising mechanical interfacing rotary converting pistons, commonly used on Tie-Fighters (limited GTI ediions only).

Since it is a "Universal Assembly" you shouldn't you be able to use it anywhere, on any aircraft?

taperlok 27th August 2007 14:58

As with the first generation 747. classic:E
