Getting an A&P
 

It is hard to get the slips from an inspector if you do not work for an FAA repair station or airline!

Once you have got the slips, buy the exam qustion books, which just came out for 2008, learn them by heart and master the exams!

Be careful for your practical!
There are examiners who let you do one or two annual inspections and take money from you and the airplane owner!
