Australian Engineering Jobs

I'm aware there is a forum for aviation jobs etc, however it seems to be all about Pilots. No surprise there, so I'll post my thread with some like-minded people.

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction for recruitment firms (and possibly jobs), for aviation engineering in Australia?

I'm currently in the Royal New Zealand Airforce, working on Kaman Seasprites. I have a predominantly Helicopter background. I'm still young enough to move, and am hoping to be over in Oz early January 2007.

I see there is alot of work out there, but I'm aiming for something that pays a decent wage and doesnt have a need for Resdiency.

Cheers for any help,

Theedmancometh.

Mate, visit company websites that do engineering in Oz. Maybe Australian Aerospace, Jayrow, etc.... or visit career websites, and advertise yourself.

If you wish to stay with the wurly gigs try CHC, Jayrow etc but if you wish to step up to jet try Qantas, Virgin or pornstar oops Jetstar, if you really wish to take any job try Forstaff at AVV

Most jobs are advertised in the Friday Australian newspaper.

You can get them online by going to www.careerone.com.au and searching for LAME or helicopter. There is one recruitment company that seems to do a lot of aviation stuff, Macro I think, they feature in a few ads.

The October Australian Aviation has a directory of helicopter operators in it.

Try macrorecruitment.com.au.

They have heaps of jobs all over Aus.

Thanks for the help. I'm currently trying Macro, they seem very helpful.

Will look at AA mag when I see Octobers. I'm hoping to move away from helos, but will take what I can get if need be.

Cheers,

ED

Problem with wokkas is while you generally do fun stuff with them the money is crap unless you go live in a shipping container in the jungle.

Best of luck- I'm a ex 3 Sqn avtech from a while ago. In fact if Psycho is still on the Seasprites, we did techs course together - tell him hi from Ox.

Ox

Pschyo is alive and well on Te Kaha, not quite sure if he's enjoying every minute of it though. I've actually just got back from the boat, he's still on it though, playing war.

I was on 3 for a while as a mechanic. How long were you in the mob for before you left? I'm asking because I'm just trying to gauge your experience. I'd say it's a LOT more than I have, and I'm wondering how employable I'd actually be only 2 years off Techs course.

Are you licensed?

I'll say Hi to Pschyo for you if he comes home before I leave.:E

I was in for just under 6 years, left Jan '95 - only about 18 months off Techs course.

I'm licensed now, on Dash 8s. Had a fair number of my exams done by the time I left, did the last few and picked up my basic license in late '95.

As long as you are prepared to work and learn you should be ok.
