Standard Aircraft Handbook

Tachnut

Find below a link for a Standard Aircraft Handbook.
If you are performing maintenance work on ANY aircraft,
read, understand and work to the Approved AMM
(Aircraft Maintenance Manual) for specific procedures
applicable to that aircraft.

This book is for reference only...

I use the Janes Aerospace Dictionary (I have an old copy, followed me from uni into industry). Very comprehensive and in my opinion the best dictionary around.
Now it been superceeded by Cambridge Aerospace Dictionary (750 pages)

http://www.cambridge.org/uk/catalogu...sbn=0521841402

If you want the latest acronym being used (and aviation loves creating new acronyms), buy the latest Cambridge Dictionary, otherwise a second hand Janes Dictionary will be ok for technical definations (look on the web for some for sale)

thank whiskeyflyer and BAe146s make me cry for helping me. But actually I need a soft version which can use with my notebook. I've already had some AMM, but I really need a English to English soft version dictionary. Who can help me?

Ok - we tried to help... But fell short. Click below for a link
to our beloved UK CAA's CAAIP CAP562.

http://www.caa.co.uk/application.asp...e=detail&id=92

Ref: AMMs.. If you use AMMs for study, great. If they are used for actual aircraft maintenance, ensure they are updated and correct for your aircraft and effectivity.

Good luck

Best sources...

Hello tachut,
Dale Crane's is an excellent reference for speakers of English as a foreign language. Also Jeppesen Maintenance has the Aviation Dictionary For pilots and maintenance technicians that is very good too. ISBN: 0-88487-318-8

Also try http://www.bwise2.com/bwise2.html for excellent tests and study guides for flight crews and technical crews.

You can find a very good source of information directly contacting www.flightspeak.co.uk

The owner is out of the office so expect a week for a reply but he can help.
Best of luck,
PE

thank planeenglish, I did try to contact with this web master, but poor me, I don't get answer yet. Ok thanh you anyway

planeenglish 13th June 2006 05:25

Hello tachut,

The flightspeak guy is out of the office and should be back by the end of this week. If you mean the bwise2 people usually there is an answer within 48 hours. Try again.

Best,
PE
