Question to AC Mechanics

My question is to people who work in small shops not in big airlines. Are you using anykind of a software to keep track of aircraft maintenance?
Reason I am asking about it cause myself software developer and wannabee pilot, developed sometime ago such a program with another guy who was aircraft mechanic, back when I lived in the states. If someone would be interested I would give it for free , in exchange for a honest opinion.
Regards
Peter

Hello PeterDublin.
I own and run my own small Part 145 maintenance facility. I have been looking for a software programme that would suit a small facility such as my own. Up to now, the only ones available would appear to be designed around large aircraft enviornments. Not really ideal for my needs.
I think I would be interested in what you have to offer. In a utiopian world, your programme would be multi-point accessable i.e. last SMI, AD compliance verifiable, planned maintenance forcast etc.

PM me with some details. It would be a pleasure to discuss further with you. And I am not far from the fair Dublin by ferry or fly.

Depending on what you run computer wise, there are a lot of boat dealerships that run exactly what you are looking for.

PeterDublin, it arrived in the post today. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

free? licence fee?

PeterDublin, I'm a bit confused.
You offered it for free, but the terms and conditions state that it is shareware and after 30 days, further use will require a payment of $2000 for one installation and a further $500 for other installations.
Even in a small business, it would make sense to have this programme installed on the Tech Records computer, the Stores computer and probably the backup laptop.
I accept that it is your intelectual property and you quite rightly deserve recompense. However, $3000 is too much for a small business to consider, even if it is a one off payment.
I would very much liked to have trialed your programme and given you feedback. Unfortunately, I am unable to justify the cost.

This, Sir, is the only honest opinion that I can give at this time.
