F16 oil samples

Hi, I've asked the guys on the mil forum, about where I can find facilites in the UK to do S.O.A.P.S for the engine oil samples we need to take to see if the engine is falling apart.

We particularly need somewhere in the north of the UK. Aberdeen used to have a lab, but the guy who did the work sadly died and they have no replacement. I was given a really good link to a company based in Odiham, but we are still in search of a Scottish or N England company. Where do the rig helicopters etc use? How about Edinburgh airport?

I'd do the research the long way round myself, but I'm working from Denmark at the moment and it's a bit tricky getting access to the UK 'phone network from work, and they don't pay me enough to use my own 'phone!

Any help, especially contact info would be great, feel free to PM me if required.

Why would you need a local service?? With same day mail/parcel deliveries (which are not as expensive as you may think) anywhere in the UK would probably be OK.

We use Spectro

Thanks for the link. The thing is, we can only fly two trips between each SOAP, and to make visits to the UK worthwhile we fly frour trips over two days. The best flying is in the north, but it seems that all the engineering facilities are in the south. We would need to be able to land at the end of the day, take the sample, post it, enjoy the nightlife... wake up the next day, ring the company and get the results by 0730, 0830 at the latest. I'm just not sure that the UK postal service or even an independant courier can crack that sort of timescale, let alone ask the engineering company to work the night shift if they don't already.

Any other contacts from you knowledgeable types out there?
Appreciate your help in advance,

GM:)
