labour rate for B737 C check
 

Just out of interest, could anybody give me some sense as to the average labour rate for a C Check on a B737 in Western/Eastern Europe?

Western Eu, where the job will be done properly, approx 55GBP per manhour. My company will charge you about 15000GBP for an A check and then 40GBP for additional work.
It's impossible to say really as a C check is so variable and it's impossible to say what will be found.

Does anyone have a "sample" contract for a C check?

If you read this press release from the ALAE they reckon £26/man-hour in Eastern Europe.

The cynic in me reckons that the beancounters shift overheads around to muddy the waters and justify their decisions to outsource overseas.

There will be overheads associated with this £26 in supporting the work at this end (Liaison, Tech Services, Records etc). Whether they add this to their final calculations I don't know.

"Labour Rate" is a complex calculation of which salary costs are only a part. In our region we have relatively high salaries and cost of living but there is no tax, aircraft spares are duty free and our premises are fully depreciated; so we can charge labour rates as low as China. Consequently, some far-flung operators find it economical to ferry aircraft all the way over here for maintenance.

Brits can blame New Labour; Germany has unification to thank for Lufthansa sending all their 737s to Malta and Hungary. Socialism and the EC - who needs it?

Someone must have voted for all this to happen. Who was it? Come on, own up!

FAA figure as per ADs is currently $65 per hour.

Why go to Asia?

Bring it to Canada. We work just as cheap and have cheaper hotels when you visit.

Plus lots of $20 at-a-time chrystal-meth. ho's available. Just like Thailand.

Most car dealerships charging $84 per hour or more here but you can get a 737 done for C$65 per hour.

Slight aside but similar theme. At SEN there is a 737-200F of ATA Brazil which has been under engineering for 3 years plus estimated 28,000 man hours spent on it. I was recently told that it may be scapped rather than completed, I assume this to be at about £26 an hour?
