A Light problem!
Hi guys.
A non-aircraft question as such but I think you are the guys who can maybe help. The headlamps on my car - yeah I know - but I gotta see where I'm going!! They are wrap around plastic type and gone slighty opaque. A fault with all the early Vauxhall cars with these fitted. Replacements are £169 each and I was wondering if there is a way that I can polish or use some other treatment to bring them back to life. PPP |
Some fellows I work with used product from this company to polish headlights. http://www.lensrenew.com/

Thanks S92mech, just the ticket! Can it be bought in the UK? Or is there perhaps a similar type in the UK.
Thanks. PPP |

Replacements are £169 each Wierd bunch of people run these places, but the prices can be low. Often already removed and shelved as well, these days.....saves trying to unscrew rusty fasteners from a scrapper.....in the rain.....in November. :ugh: |
Thanks again. A breakers yard was the first thing I tried but they were worse than mine! And changing them requires a front end dismantling job!!!
Someone I know tried the Mothers polish but it was not ideal. Gotta get something and I have asked for the total cost of shipment from Ft.Lauderdale. PPP |
if they're craized theres not much you can do about them apart from replacing them.
craizing in perspex appears as fine tiny cracks through the plastic. a good example of craizing is a leaky fuel drain dripping onto the perspex windows (eg. cessna), in a short peroid of time it will occur. gspinz |
Nope, not crazed just badly opaque in places.
