Forgive a non-technical person posting on this forum, but I am intrigued by a small comment I noticed in the London Evening Standard the other day, which read:-

"......John Salmon - he invented a valve every plane in the world uses and is exceptionally rich...."

Would appreciate knowing what he invented - perhaps I could invent another valve and make myself "exceptionally rich"!!!
