More goings @ FLS

Announced yesterday (16th): Manchester QA manager and Manchester Line Manager departed without being able to say 'cheerio'. Also a Line Supervisor with them.

Gen Brace 18th October 2000 00:22

As far as we know the removal list is the line manager(again-held this job once before if I remember rightly) quality manager 1 hangar manager and distinct possibility of another following. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif

Also heard a rumour that 20 engineers at LGW are getting the heave ho..What the hell are FLS doing..Is this some incredibly clever survival plan whereby money losses are minimised by shutting everything down and binning staff. Oh dear..my hopes are not high!!

snapon 18th October 2000 23:44

If the hangar at STN is short of engineers, have the boys at GTW been offered a transfer to diamond hangar. Must be financially more viable than paying off these guys.

Or is the writing on the wall.......Pay GTW off then sell up diamond hangar? or am I stating the obvious?

U want it when?

Gen Brace is quite right.
The company is getting rid of the garbage that prevails in management positions which must be good. Good managers are being put in positions where ex-danair pratts used to be, (Maintrol for example) so that the comany may be able to attract staff from outside. I left a few months ago but I hope the good folk still there will reap something from the clearing out of the wanquers.

Dozy Bell 19th October 2000 13:37

Would any of the blokes at LGW want to take a position at STN? I know I wouldn't!!

SchmiteGoBust 19th October 2000 21:47

So..Who decided which managers should go out of the Man hangar? Smacks a bit of the old DAN-DARE mafia type of manouevering we have all come to know and love!! Anyway we can always look on the bright side--with all the managers left being DAN-AIR (bar 1), the base should rapidly turn into a profit making concern...I THINK NOT. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif

Gen Brace 20th October 2000 01:08

Is the mangement being removed a calculated attempt at making the path for a takeover simpler with whoever that may be purchasing? Ensuring that there will be no dead weight left. Who knows, if these same people were removed say ten years ago when the whole process of F.L.S. buying in to aviation began it might be a totally different situation now without the whole threat of our parent company pulling out.
Given our track record would you even consider buying in to a company with such a proven poor track record with managers that consistently give a poor performance, the answer from any normal sane person would be NO!!

Clear out the whole lot of them and start from scratch! This should have been done years ago. NO more of this side to side job movement the only job movement should have been to have the car park, sorry guys no offence and no tears you had a good run at it... http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif

did someone mention a certain Quality manager being escorted off STN base today?

Prehaps mondays meeting will result in more free desks, and less expenses!!

Who would have believed the managements inability, to pass down crucial Audit report
information.

Gen Brace 22nd October 2000 11:31

Any more bets on who is going to take over the line managers position yet???

I think I know allready! someone carefully moved from the hangar to the line not so long ago.

Also gone last week (Thurs) Tech Services manager and HR former chief.

Gen Brace 24th October 2000 21:41

F.L.S. TV is now everywhere in the hangar to let the employees know who is leaving and when.(might have cctv view of the car park on it so you know whos being marched off and when)

Nice tv's, apparently cost about £900 each.

Think that at least one of them might look good in my front room if theres any spare.

Black belt system is being implemented now,so is it a case that if you dont have one you are marched of the premises.Or is it the other way round.

Kevlar jackets are going to be considered for free issue on the line, either that or they are going to have to remove all sharp objects!!!

By the way how many people took an instant disliking to him on the first week???

Good luck to the rest of you. He might be made up to line manager
