AIRBUS GROUND SPOILERS A320
TO EXPERIENCED A320 ENGINEERS :
IF YOU MOVE THE SPEEDBRAKE LEVER ON THE GROUND TO FULL ,WHAT SPOILERS WILL DEPLOY? |
All except 1 pair, but I can't remember if it's the inner/outer most pair - sorry.
Aha! Must be the inner most pair tho' - ground spoilers function brings 'em up methinks. [This message has been edited by WenWe (edited 18 November 2000).] |
If they hydraulics are on yes.
|
it will be spoilers 2 to 4 LH & RH. 1 & 5 remain down.
|
Some viscious rumours appearing on this post I will just add my 2 pents worth......
Spoilers 2,3&4 deploy in the air (Flight SPLR's) Spoilers 1,2,3&4 Deploy on the ground (Ground SPLR's) Spoiler 5 L & R are for Roll Control & LAF Only (If LAF is not de-activated) Very Confident having just checked on the Aircraft to confirm that this is so! ------------------ http://www.vegemite.com.au/image_lib...g/jarsmall.gif Now We're Happy Little Vegemite's......." What we are saying is:
If you move the speedbrake lever from ret to full on the ground 1to 5 on each wing will deploy, is that right ? |
All,
Doesn't the flap position enter into this? It's been a year since I flew the A320, but I recall that with landing flaps selected, the inbd pair are locked out from manual extension (although they do deploy automatically on landing). I recall this scenario: After touchdown, with lever armed to automatic, moving the lever aft manually will retract the inbd pair of spoilers. Correct? GreenArc |
If flaps are Down, No spoiler movement will occur. If you need the spoilers up with flaps down you need to put the spoilers in Maint mode. But remember to switch them back.
|
Ah so!!! When the aircraft lands (generally with full flaps) the spoilers will not deploy? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
|
Airbus 58
If You Move the spoiler lever back on the ground spoilers 1 to 4 will deploy spoiler 5 will only deploy with side stick selection. Regards Cone ------------------ [This message has been edited by IMA Conehead (edited 25 November 2000).] |
