A Turbine's Question

hi guys.

can anyone quote from any sources the various stages of a Jet turbine's gas velocity and pressure?

I.e. are the following correct??
V = velocity, P = pressure
Induction: Low V Low P
Compression: Low V High P
Combustion: High V High P
Extraction: High V Low P (with bypass) ??

appreciated.

The Rolls book has a good graphical representation of this.

I must say, I got the Rolls Royce book about a week ago, and it really does the job for turbine engines. (This from a 2nd year Mech Eng cramming for 10 exams, I'm not even studying the material in college yet.)

Suck, squeeze, bang, fart is the Otto Cycle for Internal combustion engines.

Strictly speaking a gas turbine is Suck, squeeze, burn, blow.

Unless it surges and then it's Suck, squeeze, bangfart,burn, blow/fart/bang. In any order really.:ok:
