hey all,just looking for a bit of help,ive just completed an avionics program through college,with little practical experience.ive completed all the theory for the part-66 B2,do I need to pass all the exams before I get a job,or could I get my foot in some where as joe soap and work my way up???

Try knocking on doors - literally. Take along "drop off" CV data packs and as a minimum leave at reception addressed to HR or in smaller Co.'s Chief Engineer. Make sure you leave as many comms channels as possible. ie: Phone, FAX, Mobile & Email.
You can rest assurred most data packs will end up being filed in the "Too hard basket", but one or two may make it onto the correct desk at the correct time.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the experience requirements for a Part66 can be up to 5 Years before you can get a licence, this however can be reduced depending on your backround! Thas a lot of "Joe soaping".
I take it your over in Ireland. I know SR technics are looking for Apprentices at Dublin, that would be four years but you'd get more Experience, or maybe Shannon Aerospace I think they turn trainees out in approx 2 years.
Hangar experiece is best if your starting out.

SR arent looking for anyone,i applied for that and they said its "on hold", the only advantage i see of an apprenticeship is the on the job training,i have done all the theory with limited on the job training,the on the job training in an apprenticeship would be excellent.

How limited is your on the job training? one year, two years, a week?? Was it Hangar or line? Props or Jets?

did 6wks line maintenance and all on airbus A320 series, and i did a lot of wiring,projects,circuit building etc in electronic labs but didnt do much in maintenance practices due to reasons beyond all the students control

I know of some people in the UK who have gone on training cousres and passed all the modules but can't get any experience and have even heard that some are working for nothing in order to get the OJT.
