JAR (EASA) type recency
Gday guys,
can anyone out there clarify a point of discussion for me? I would like to know if the european airlines who come under EAsa have a MANDATORY requirement that engineers must have had aircraft TYPE recency training within the last 2 years relative to the aircraft they want to certify, or do they simply have to have 6 months GENERAL aircraft experience within the last 2 years to maintain recency for LAME's. its a boring question, but I would sincerely appreciate any feedback that was factual. cheers excon. |
Where I am (BA) you need to keep recency on type. I lost some cover due to the aircraft moving base and will no doubt have to re-sit the type course if it ever comes back.
Post EASA/JAA not quite sure how this works with regards to types held on your licence and how they would go about checking any experience you submit come renewal time.... |
Think you will find it is 6 mths TYPE recency for your TYPE and 6mths general in 24 mths for licence renewal.
