rate of pay in the uk
just wondering what the rate of pay is like compared to living over there.....im in australia an AME working for Qantas and its not too good at all any info would be helpful,also are any jobs going with the major airlines that anyone knows about...thanks

In a Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) backed benchmarking exercise in 1997/98, the General Aviation trade body, GAMTA, established that the average UK labour rate was £28 per hour. In the US the average is £35 and in Germany is £40. The UK motor trade has a higher labour rate than General Aviation.
Rates of pay is one thing , but standard of living is more important . You're probably better off where you are mate as the UK is the most expensive to live in Europe with the exception of the Scandanavian countries. If you've got any sense, stay put.
