A professional engineer would give a damn. Have you read it or know of its existance?

If you wish to fit a critical component that's came out the back door of a workshop in Dongguan after being signed as serviceable by a guy who's only qualification is being a member of the party that's your lookout! Also according to AWN 17 the Release Certificate can be in Chinese only? So non chinese speaking engineers at the airport will have to rely on other people getting it right.

Maybe someone else has a view point on this?:\

I think spanners is referring to a user by that name on Airmech,

Anyway, if you get a release cert it's your responsibility to ensure it's correctly filled out and actually refers to the part it's arrived with. If it's in Chinese and you can't read it then I don't see how you can fit it.
I understand the pressures that may be forced upon someone to just get on with it in these cases but it'll only take a couple of long delays AOG before a rethink of this policy is needed?
Cover your own , there will always be a translator available later if the component you fit causes an incident , you can bet on that!

If I am right. The ICAO convention states that the international language of aviation should be english. This includes all literature and documentation. I know for sure a leasing company would never accept the return of an a/c from lease if documentation was not in english. It's the law.

I suspect that this new AWN requires the form 1 to INCLUDE chinese.

We have had probs returning a/c from lease when form one's had a full stop in the wrong place let alone when they were in a non standard language.

An extract below:

All aircraft components must be released on an Authorised Release Document.
The Authorised Release Document from recognised organisations approved
by CAAC should be Form AAC-038 and the document may be completed in
Chinese. The Authorised Release Document from recognised organisations
approved by AACM should be AACM Form One.

:suspect:
