B206 Tail Strike

Hi All ( first time on this forum)

I was wondering if anyone can help me as I've heard conflicting reports from different engineers.

On a Bell 2063 tail rotor strike, is the free-wheel unit a mandatory component that must be changed.

Thanks in advance

Check the Special Inspection criteria for a tail rotor strike in Chapter 5 of the Maintenance Manual.

This details the specific actions required following a strike, and the escalating actions required dependent upon your inspection findings.

Cheers C.Hotline,

I am no engineer but will look in the big scary manual.

two0six: I think you will find that the FWU has to be overhauled at very least.
Any subsequent damage found during the O/H may require scraping of affected parts.
