Electronic recording of maintenance
I'm involved with work looking at introducing electronic recording of AC maintenance and the associated electronic certification i.e. electronic signatures for a well know military flying club. There are more questions than answers at the moment and wading through various EU Directives, Acts and BS's leaves the whole issue with no hard evidence of any "best practise" in our environment.
As you may appreciate issues over admissibility of electronic records as evidence in court, storage, accessibility and the method of applying e-sigs all need addressing to ensure the electronic system is "As safe" as the historical paperwork one My questions are simply: Is there any organisation out there in the civil domain using any maintenance software in conjunction with electronic signatures? How difficult was it to achieve and maintain the JAR status? Who could I contact for more information? |
There are a few systems out there that can acheive this. A training school here in UAE is currently installing such a system which is a uk based software called RAL.
The company web site is www.russelladams.com, or drop me a line and I will give you some more direct emails to contact for more info as my company utilises other modules of their software package. cheers |
