UK CAA EASA Part 66 Basic Licence equivalence.
 

Just wondering if anybody knows what a Part 66 Cat B Licence is the equivalent of in the academic world?

I understand it can go towards an Aircraft Engineering BEng(Hons) at certain colleges but I was wondering if anybody had used it to be able to gain access to other academic qualifications outside of aviation?

Unfortunately nothing, because the academics don't recognise a B1 as being any different from a driving licence. It's the licence word they don't like. However, once you qualify for C as well, you can apply to Raes for I Eng status.

There is no direct equivalent, but you can get college credit points by presenting the EASA part 66 syllabus. The same applies to the FAA A&P license.
