Purpose of P3 heating

I work on a pt6a-27. I'm just curious as to why we need to keep the P3 line heated. Can someone tell me why?

Isn't this where the line crosses the intake of cold air?

Yes it is.

Well you have answered your own question haven't you. Now go back to the gas laws and PV/T =C to work out the C is fairly important. Or that frozen moisture does muck up indication and function. AF447 proved that.
