I really wondering ,Is ICAO TYPE II license convertible to FAA A&P?
 

Dear Engineers
I live in korea and have Aircraft maintenance license Type II of ICAO.
I would like to know can Icao license type2 convertble to FAA A&P or EASA B1 ?

I can only speak to the A&P, but if by "convertible" you mean to present your ICAO license to the FAA and they "convert" it to an FAA certificate, then the answer is no.

And that is the same for any other type of license. There is no direct conversion to a FAA A&P.

Anyone wishing to obtain an FAA A&P must have the same experience requirements and pass the same tests. There is a slight difference in the process for foreign nationals vs. US citizens or resident aliens.

One other point, you cannot just choose to get an FAA licence, you need to prove that you need one (letter from airline operating 'N' reg aircraft etc)

Why do you want to convert it anyway if you are working in koera? Beside it is impossible

I understand that my ICAO license can't convert to FAA.
Then can convert to EASA B1?.

I live in korea now and work in AIRFORCE. I really want to work in UAE but UAE aircraft company require GCAA or EASA B1 license.

There is no conversion from ICAO type II to EASA B1 - you have to do the whole Licence again.

The UAE now uses the EASA B1/B2 system - the old GCAA system is no longer in use and all Licences have been converted.
