Q. Why does doppler VOR have less site error compared to CVOR?

kindly elaborate in a simple language if possible. Am just a pilot :}

CVOR uses AM for the variable signal, where as DVOR uses FM, which is not so susceptible to external interference.

I read somewhere that site error in doppler VOR is less because of its bigger aperture compared to CVOR. By aperture they meant the diameter of the circle in which the antennas of the doppler are arranged. Does that make any sense to you? I dont really know what tht means.

The deeper you get in to the theory, and it is complicated way beyond my intellect and understanding, it appears that the increased aperture (effective area) of the antenna in combination with the rotating variable beam being radiated by omnidirectional, rather than directional antennas, results in a reduction, but not elimination of multi-path propagation errors.

thanks for the input QA1. Very helpful!!
