Part 66 engineer in Ghana or Nigeria
 

Hi, we need an EASA engineer to replace the seatbelts in our Cessna 182. The task is clearly very simple but it has to be done by the 'right' person.

So, options are either:

• Find someone out there (even if they're used to working on Airbus, it's the same qualification!).
• Send someone out there!

Sam, have a search on here, there was a recent thread on seatbelt replacement, I do know that in some juristictions , faa for example, the replacement of seatbelts is a permitted pilot maintenance task so you may be able to do it yourself.. I dont know about easa but worth a look if you are stuck

This is the SB re the secondary seat stop, this is an old copy, so check as they keep updating the expiry date and SB, so it may well (should be) still be running, it covers the P1 seat only freebie wise, but that's the main one, we never fitted it to the P2 on ours just the P1 about a year ago.... see

If you are changing the main belts you need to be aware of this, if you fit rewebbed etc they will need replacing in 18 months if not done by manufacturer or by approved company.

It's not about who is qualified to carry out the task but who is authorised to.
You need an engineer who is qualified on puddle jumpers and can be authorised to carry out the task for you by your maintenance authority, if you can't do it yourselves.
Try the guys at ghanair, they have a nice facility in Accra. They may be able to help.
There are a few Cessnas kicking about Ghana. 1or 2 look newish, but they are local reg...so the engineers will be gcaa licenced, but may have easa licence as well.
There are a few expats about but mostly big stuff or rotary.
Sorry I can't help further but me and my easa/ gcaa licences have left the country.

item 14 is Replacing safety belts. So you don't need an engineer actually.
