AA MD83 mx loss
this MD was fully jacked when its tail decided to eat up the stand..ouch.
In respect to the age, any fate other than the scrapyard would be a miracle, I believe. N110HM, no clues where and when that was..the writing on the tailstand clearly reads "737 wing"..uhm.. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...10HM_Bild1.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...10HM_Bild8.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...10HM_Bild9.jpg |
..and I luv that it has "737 Wing" written on it in big friendly red letters.
|
haha
doubt it was the stand, more the process. Jacked many DC-9's, need ballast up front. I believe the tail jack is only there for stabilisation. NOT a jack point.
|
No, you always jack it in the tail, never the front. You place a front jack when its jacked up, to keep it from bouncing.
Would love to see the report on this one. The letters on the jack shouldnt have anything to say if the adapters are correct, and it can handle the weight. I know MD tailjacks have penetrated the fuselage before due to corrosion.... |
can anyone identify the hangar..can it be St.Louis ?
|
acc to ASN the incident occured on AUG 5th, at DFW...
In absence of any recent sightings its safe to say that this machine will never again return to the skies:sad: |
