advice from professional in engineering field...plzzzz help

I am doing my easa part 66 modules. I need professional advice from you guys that the OJT I am doing is on small aircrafts for eg. Senecca 172. If I won't be able to get chances to work on airbus or boeings so while be there any chance that I can get a job in any airline

Which EASA category are the modules for?
In order to finally get a license you NEED a job with an airline or MRO to gain work experience after finished OJT.

Surely it is just with a 145 company

imm 16th Jan 2012 19:35

It is part 145 from AST PERTH SCOTLAND

Have you tried BAMG at Glasgow?

Freddie838 22nd Jan 2012 11:28

are you confusing part 147 and part 145?

AST is a part 147 training provider but are they also a part 145 organisation?

imm 24th Jan 2012 08:17

sorry they are 147......my concern is that i am doing OJT on small aircrafts like cessna 172 so how will i get a chance to work on airlines after completing my modules

But darling, look at the website for AST, it tells you exactly what you want to know! You are doing BASIC training at the moment and smaller aircraft works just like big ones.
Get your COR then find a way to gain industry experience...

So rating of jets won't be important if I apply for a job in airline industry as I am done with mt course

Wmn 6th Feb 2012 14:23

It may be important with a rating in the future!

But now you will be applying for a trainee/unskilled position. In my opinion heavier maintenance is better for newbies to get the bits and pieces together.
Expect 2-5 years before it's time for a license course!

Does anyone else have a different opinion?

Good luck!

As I posted previous, try British Airways at Glasgow. They do hangar chks on both Airbus and Boeing.

BAMG is the good choice and assuming Ken P is still there it will be more than a chance for you as he is a great guy !
