You are required to speak English on PPRuNe. If you wish to speak French you must use the French forum.

I have a good friend currently working at their base in Melbourne. He tells me that it is one of the more pleasant workplaces he has been in with limited internal bickering and politics.

They do however tend to have regular pendulumistic employment trends with seemingly regular redundancy periods.

I believe the workforce is happy enough overall.

No idea about the pay except that it is in line with the average in Australia.

Apparantly no unions involved.

Hope this helps.

Matmax, take your french postings to the French forum. This is an English area.

Matmax the original post was written in english and consequentally the topic starter sought an english response and not french, This is an english section just like aviation's official language is english, hence no point in us learning other languages to be here or in the aviation industry, Should you feel like speaking french this would be the most applicable place for you:
French Forum - PPRuNe Forums
Otherwise you have to respect others around you that are unlikely to understand french even if your post is addressed to a french guy.

Just a comment on the salary (I'll try not to comment on the language fight)

I was contacted by a recruiter who offered me (LAME) AUD 110k-130k at JHAS. If a recruiter tells me so, it must be correct, right?????

The wage is ok, but personally I would not do permanent night shift to get it.

MATMAX 4th Feb 2011 09:22

Dear CZ,
FYI , it was not for a permanent night shift ...

Fair enough....

But from us engineers in Australia, JHAS will only be offering that money to attract engineers from overseas so they don't have to spend money training perfecly competent local engineers. That may be a source of irritation for some, myself included!!

cheers

MATMAX,

Whatever salary range they quote you ie. 110-130k.
It will be 110k when you put pen to paper.
Then they have a habit of including the company super commitment of 9% because they consider that part of your package, even though you can't access it.
110k - 9%
100k all of a sudden isn't looking too good for permanent night shift is it?

MATMAX 5th Feb 2011 09:13

CZ,
In my own country , there are a lot of foreigners , it is not a problem for me unless they are accepting low conditions and then downgrading others life , do you follow me ?
Personnally , i went through many hoops to get my experience and types ... may i suggest you to do the same thing ?
Please , get an open mind.
When i was not happy in a place , i was leaving it , simple.
But i understand your "irritation".
NF,
As i said already , it was WRITTEN more than 130K and it was NOT permanent night shift.
Please guys , Numa is looking for infos ...
Oh , i was nearly forgetting , i do not know who is the mod here , but great job sir , BRAVO !
