Hello Jan,
May i ask you where are you from ?
Rgds.

Safety Concerns 5th Oct 2010 08:02

what do you expect when licensed engineers have lost sight of reality and become selfish individuals rather than a strong effective united team.

People working for free, comments on the "other" site Airmech where so called intelligent engineers are calling for the rest to bend over and accept anything that is thrown at them on the pay front.

As if maintenance is the cause of airlines going under or people being laid off.

Wake up and stand up and be counted for christs sake before its too late. You want to align with China in order to prevent jobs going abroad then you will end up on chinese wages

It is D day. Stand up and fight or bend over and becomes slaves again

That's about what I pay in tax.

I keep saying it on this site and to anyone else that wants to listen. As mechs we have transferrable skills that are very usable outside of aviation and in many cases get better pay, better job security for less responsibility.
Aviation is a great industry to be in, but it has a poor record for consistent employment.

With so many young people wanting to get in and so many companies abroad wanting to take the work at low wage rates I think concepts of solidarity in the "First World" and Engineers' ideas of their own value are wistful at best.

The world is changing my friends, change with it. The dinosaurs didn't change, they remained united to the end.

Safety Concerns 12th Oct 2010 15:14

what an absolutely uneducated piece of nonsense.

You bend over, you end up on chinese wages. It is that simple. Strange, I don't see the French or Germans bending over so are you seriously suggesting the UK economic outlook is better than France or Germanys?

Wake up and get real. By the way I would consider changing your name. The Dodo is extinct. What were you saying about dinosaurs?

It sounds like a contract in France with a full French payroll including social insurance? I have heard rates before in the mid-teens Euro net for French contracts with taxes taken off, and that was before things went bang. No wonder French engineers like to escape for a while and earn some money, but they run back into the system quickly as they will lose their benefits otherwise.

There still is money to be made in France as a Conny
If you have 5 or 6 narrow & widebodies current on your licence ( No Restrictions) & you are willing to work 60 to 70 hours a week then there is no reason why you shouldnt be earning 90K a year
I have being doing it on & off for 5 of the last 10 years in CDG & the other times in the rest of the EU
