JAR 66 basic/ coversion/ type courses?

Having understood the lack of training in the UK for years, I am wondering what the engineering interest would be for approved JAR 66 training (under current JAR 147) in the UK, specifically South East - meaning that you don't have to sit the CAA's papers???? . .. .Any suggestions on type courses you might be interested in? I know that in the past 6 months there has been a retreat in company training, specifically type courses.. .. .Love to hear your suggestions!

I have been trying to get a jar 66 basic course with BA for the best part of a year.At the moment all courses are for the new professional engineer program, and the general idea is,so I gather, that they are having such a tough time passing the exams thats is a waste of time training us mere mortals.. . On the other hand a more cynical man than me would say why waste money training staff we don`t want!!

While working for the green-tailed outfit, I purchased JAR 66 conversion training from two sources for our engineering staff. There were spaces available, which we offered, at a discount, to other companies, BA included. How many took up the offer? NOT ONE! Demonstrated a real commitment!. .Most 145s were hoping, IMHO, that 66 would be diluted or scrapped.. .Anyway, 'nuff said. . .Having said that...the green-tailed outfit did demonstrate a commitment in that regard, for which they should be commended.. . . . [ 22 March 2002, 00:05: Message edited by: Bus429 ]
