Can't help with salary levels but the word from friends over there is be prepared for a very high cost of living, especially accommodation. Salary may be tax free but living is definitely not. You need to factor expected costs into what you take home to decide if a supposedly attractive package is as good as it looks.

Short Answer is don't, I worked for Etihad/ADAT for 2 years from 2008 thru 10. Cost of living and schooling is huge and the wages are sh!t conditions Sh!t and the country SH!T. when I left you got 16500AED a month basic for A330/340 plus housing (heard that the boys at Etihad are getting 10% this year, first pay rise fron mid 2008), which you could get a dog kennel for. and yes when I left Etihad kept accumulated OT, they only paid a max amount per month and you usually worked more so you got it as time in lieu, they don't keep their word and don't belive a thing they tell you. Goood luck If you want to go, the work hrs are long and very hot for 6 months of they year and it is not the oasis that they will tell you it is. PM if you want I will pass along my opinion if that helps you. Just remember that they own you over there.

Regards

Hi,

I never worked for Etihad, but I had an interview with them sometime back in 2008.
The offered package, also with regards to the salary, was definitely not worth to leave my good job in Europe.

Regards,
J.V.

No problem: When I stayed at the Abu Dhabi Sheraton you had your choice of "beef bacon" or "breakfast meat" on the breakfast buffet.

As far as working and living conditions, one of my friends worked for Gamco and the other for Amiri Flight and they both lived in company supplied houses. However, they were both engineers (not mechanics).

The working conditions seemed just like all the other MRO's. Big hangers with airplanes and back shops providing support.

Its cack!

Etihad are a big pile of horse manure to work for! don,t bother even thinking about it!! you are treated like the aforementioned horses plop.

Emirates is marginally better you are still treated like cack!

Get a job elsewhere you will be much much happier!!!
