Weather Radar
I walked by just under a 777 radome and I didnt know they were doing a Weather Radar test. Is there any need for worry if I fried anything in my body? I want to have kids one day!!! This was the only time it happened to me and it was just a couple of seconds.

How did you learn that they were performing a test?
There's nothing for you to worry about.
Test functions don't emit; they're internal operations testing components and circuitry, not output.

We have a safety incident under way where I work. (line work on B717).
Pilots manual says no safety distance required for WX RDR preflight test, maintenance manual says 14ft for the exact same test.
Can only guess how many engineers have been zapped while milling around the nose waiting to do pushbacks.
The other thing is doppler is active for windshear detection as soon as parkbrake is off and and either fuel switch selected on. So we are getting zapped again on pushback.
Neither Boeing nor Honeywell seem to want to touch it (according to our safety Dept).

Radar should not be on until well away from the gate.
ARINC 708 radars transmit low power levels and Doppler mode changes nothing in terms of that power.
Read the health note in post # 2, it is relevent.
Former Bendix guy.
