Thumbs up ATA to spend $63m on RB211-524B4's!

Good to know some people have their eye on the long term maintenance investments:

This is a great article!

Question

mriya 225, interesting articles, do you know if this is using Trent components? This will I guess be an option to long term operators of the 524-D4 as well.

Reading the article it would be for D4 components which would include combustor and turbines as stated, and cowlings as the D4 components are a bigger diameter. To go the whole hog would require a different L.P. shaft (longer) and a new fan disc. If my memory serves me right the fan is 4 inches further forward. Not sure it would be compatible with the no2 engine intake.
Still nice to see faith in the old Tristar.
Maybe the Guvnor would be interested as well, that would bring the unit costs down even more!
