Headaches

Coming back BN-ML the other day, my 23 yo son (passenger)experienced what he described as the most excruciating and piercing head pain behind his eye, that he could imagine. (Please no jokes - it wasn't the food or the PA). This was on the final stages of descent, as the attendents were seated for landing. He reckons he would have had trouble getting their attention anyway as the pain was so debilitating. He doesn't have a cold and it has not occured on any recent flight. To me its obviously a sinus problem, which must be fairly common, but is there a quick fix in this situation?

Seriously..... he should go to an E.N.T. specialist. Not Dr PPRuNe for advice. :(

VB does the same thing to me.:D

He needs to see a Doctor. Knowing Dunnunda Prooners I'd never take their medical advice!:D

Try postiing in the Medical and Health forum. I'm sure some Avmed doctors could dispense some sort of advice.

You need to poke him in the Eye with a pin to even out the pressure........sure it hurts, but anything that hurts or tastes bad is good for you.
Or he could go see a doctor..........they are reputed to know about these things.

ER....thanks

Thanks all for the advise.
There could be a genetic factor here because he often gives me a headache.

gravy fixes everything

A girl I knew once made a similar complaint. She said something at the back of her head was hurting although at the time it was hard to work out what she was saying. Must've been the same complaint too because she had also just completed a descent.

Although I'm no doctor --(I started med school but they threw me out for being lazy. They said it wouldn't do for me to have the lives of others in my hand so I went into personal finance before becoming an airline pilot)-- it seemed the natural thing to give her a hot soothing potion. That seemed to end the pain but I administered an injection for good measure. Haven't seen her since so it obviously did the trick. She felt okay to me, anyway.

Another satisfied customer. I should charge for this stuff. Not that I'd recommend this for your son...
