Williamtown Flying Club?

Is there a civilian flying club at RAAF Williamtown, and if so how can I make contact?

Aus ATC 27th May 2002 11:40

Not that I am aware of, but there is a well patronised military one!!

But seriously, Royal Newcastle Aero Club operates out of Maitland/Rutherford (YMND), about 15nm west of Willy.

Williamtown does have a very active 'Flying Club' contact SQNLDR Wells (CFI) at 81 wing HQ .

The RAAF Williamtown Flying Club is open to people who are involved or serving in the defence force. Family of these people are also allowed to join up and fly. At the moment they have made a few small changes, one instructor has left for flight screening and a couple more instructors have moved in. The club is also looking for another aircraft to compliment its C150 for basic training. Its possible if youre not involved in the defence sector but wish to join that they may let you provided you buy a plane and put it on line with them :ok:
