Virgin Requirements
 

I am sure this topic has been covered before so sorry to repeat it, but can someone tell me what Virgin are looking for with regards to pilot requirements and is there an AGE issue or will they look at pilots up to their mid to late 30's???

yeah, but come on. I know what he means. Is it one of those companies where you just have to know some one? Do they methodically go through every application? Are they focusing on Ansett pilots for the next X months? Is it enough to do the internet thing or do you have to call/visit/mail love letter etc. I wouldn't mind some real answers myself.

Java, be encouraged, age is not an issue. I personally know of three on the wrong side of 40 who have got into VB in the last few months.

ccy sam thanks for the serious reply. As far as the guys you know who got in on the wrong side of 40, did they have an enourmous amount of hours. I will be in my mid 30's soon with 1600 hours, so do you think that is realistic to at least get a look in at an interview????

Java, one of the 40 year olds had just over 4000 hours total experience. More than half of that was turbine time. From everything I've heard from friends who are in DJ, once you get to the interview stage they are interested in the PERSON not the hours or the age.

Out of interest how long after plonking in your PilotStaffCV online application did you get an interview ? How were you notified of the interview, phone call or email ?

Word around the campfire is that there are to be direct entry Captains in the immediate future.

Also that A320 rumour ( as an additional type ) just will not go away!

VB`s JR and AN`s JS talked a few weeks ago.

Wasn`t about 89 either.

Think it was in reference to a core of suitable A320 training captains.Short term contract of course,no VB employment afterward.

CRM nightmare,I wonder if exAN would only train those not involved in the dispute.89ers could go to Toulose or Beijing(with their $50 dollar a day allowance,assuming that `cause they get $100Aus in HK on NG course).
