Latest AN Bid
LAME......U must be slipping ......I beat you to the latest news clipping
This is from the Syd Morn Herald late breaking news.......... --------------------------------------------- One of the world's biggest dance music companies has made a late bid to turn Ansett planes into flying nightclubs. The UK-based Ministry of Sound told ABC radio today it had put forward a proposal to Ansett's administrator to buy four jets. The company originally planned to begin its airline in Europe but said the Ansett collapse had provided a good opportunity to acquire high quality planes and staff. Commercial brand director Richard Mergler said with several modifications the planes would recreate the nightclub experience and fly to parties interstate and overseas. "We're going to be doing Sydney-Melbourne to begin with where you fly from Sydney to Melbourne late in the evening, there will be DJs on board, special DJ decks will have been installed into where the business seats were," Mr Mergler told ABC radio. "It'll just be a really fun atmosphere, they'll party all night in the town and if there's a big event that coincides with it, they'll obviously go to that." _____________________________________________ Wow the potential for air rage like we have never seen before |
Yeah, I saw that article, and to be honest my first reaction was to check it wasn't April 1...
There are some pros and cons. On the pro side its original and may well appeal to those youth (and not so young) yearining for a somewhat different 'going out' experience. However the price would make it so elitest that you'd only find the children of rich businessmen on board (Ok that's exagerating but you know what I mean...) However that flippant comment on air rage is quite important. How would you like to control 100 drunk young people who for their amusment might randomly decide to open the doors inflight for "fun" or do other random acts of stupidity like trying to pull out seats? It is something to consider... Even an alcohol-free service might risk going a little over-the-top. Another thing is that Seats will still be required for T/O and landing, not leaving much of a dance floor... Oh well, I'd be surprised to see it go ahead but I suppose any plan seeing AN staff and a/cback in the air is positive in itself. |
Isn't that what Virgin do????? :D
