Warning about PPRuNe Chat!
 

“Why not try out the PPRuNe Chat in the meantime?” Says the advert when the PPRuNe site is busy.

However despite the standards the Moderators espouse, PPRuNe Digichat continually amends one’s postings and adds various sick comments like “Did you know I’m a fairy”.

Sorry Danny and Woomera - I admire what you have achieved. PPRuNe is a great site. You don’t need that crap!

However, as far as I was aware, the automatic editing of posts on chat was to censor any type of bad language etc??
It looks as though it's working too, unless you want everyone to think you are a fairy, you will stop swearing...

It occurred monotonously in both the Chat Room and private chat. And had nothing to do with censorship of anything I posted.

Ah ok... looks like the moderators where getting a little bored ;)

It only puts that in when you type certain words Torres, and they are considered swearing where I come from. ;)

As for fairies, aren't they little creatures with wings .........

Oh yes. Exhaustive research has produced a long list of words that are automatically replaced with assorted extremely tedious alternatives. Just stick an asterisk or some other suitable symbol in place of the first vowel and your expletive will be there for all to see in a fully comprehensible form.

Hi Chimbu. Your response to my "admission" of being a fairy was certainly interesting...... :D

You can always try and spell the word a differant way, Eg, phuc,bugga,ferkin or even use words like golly,gosh,gee,strewth......but you dont get the same effect as saying it like slasher would..... ;) :D

Torres ... we've all be called a bloodey fairy in chat mate. It's kinda inevitable, ya know? :eek:

But, I havta say that most of us learn after the first such "accusation"... :D Very few of us will repeat the mistake, except in the interests of "research", o' course! :p

I rationalise it this way ... the accusation is directed at the "offender" by machine code. That is, a bunch of "0"s and "1"s, so it ain't as if it's somebody that ya need ta bust in the mouth! ;)
