PNG : The Austrian Ace Returns To CAA!

Who remembers this bloke...?

He's on his way back! Arrives from Salzburg via Singas at sparrows on Sunday 25 Nov. It'll be great to have him back - and right at a time when we're pretty much below minimums for FOIs.

PNG Aviation is the winner here. I did my initial png IFR test with this man and he is a real gentleman. Well known and respected so I am certain he will be welcomed back by many old friends.

fly_boy 22nd Nov 2001 22:17

Excuse my ignorance but can we put a name to that photo. I've forgotten some of the faces/names; it's the ageing process.
Lukim yupela!

Oz I'd be curious to know when there wasn't a shortage/dearth of Examiners in PNG, well in the last 15 years anyway?

Mind you, of those that were there, Vally was as good as they get!

Make sure you give him my regards!!

Chuck.

I often wondered where he had disappeared to ... a lovely fellow ....

fly_boy 23rd Nov 2001 13:15

Thanx fms; did my initial PNG instrument in a bandit with A. Pedashenkas (sp?) and he was cool.
Is Cowboy Wilcocks still the Manager Flt Ops @ OCA?

OzExpat 23rd Nov 2001 15:52

saro... The last I knew, it wasn't going to work out. Very sad coz I met the lady in question and she's a gem ... absolutely perfect for him.

Chuck ... spot on with the last 15 years mate. We've been down to 2 FOIs a few times but this time it's been like there's been more work than ever before. We'd just gotten used to having at least 3 FOIs and then everything turned to worms in a hurry, so maybe that's why we've seemed busier of late. But, then, we didn't previously have stuff like corporate responsibility/liability, GPNSS, GPS NPA, etc., in the past either. And even with 3 FOIs we were seriously under staffed.

I'll be sure to say hello to him for ya! :)

fly-boy... Alex Pedashenko is the name you were grasping for. And, no, Cowboy is now with Fubilan. You knew, of course, that Alan C went finish, I presume? That was within a week of Cowboy's departure.

Thank you all for the good wishes. I'll be sure to see they're all passed along when I see him too bloodey early Sunday. Wally is truly one of nature's gentlemen and it'll be great to have him back with us!

SkyLand News recently noted the return of the illustrious Alky Malky to PNG skies.

ATITR? :D

Torres 24th Nov 2001 08:22

Alky Malky back again!! Can't he get enough of the place? How many times has he returned in the last 40 years?

What's he doing Sharpie - running a retirement village for pilots?

OzExpat 25th Nov 2001 02:03

The honourable Aly Malky is back? When did this happen? Why wasn't I informed IMMEDIATELY??? Guess that's what happens when a bloke isn't a regular at the temple...

BTW Sharpie... welcome back to PPRuNeland! I see you finally got the connection thing sorted out! :D

Okay folks ... and now for the big news that you've ALLLLLLL been waiting for! This was the scene at 6:25AM local time this morning, Sunday 25 November...

Wally has returned! Currently accommodated at the Airways Hotel and will be on deck first thing tomorrow morning! Noted that JR returned from Singas on the same flight, having been doing surveillance of sim sessions over the last week.

And a hearty well done to that legend in PX, Gamey, for keeping as close to the schedule as possible! ;) Just for once the schedule wasn't just based on a calendar!

Capt Vegemite 25th Nov 2001 02:22

Ozemate is that a shoulder holster he's wearing??

Would it be possible for someone to slip into port Morbid unnoticed ? :D

Alky back.....ur gotta be kidding....?

OzExpat 25th Nov 2001 16:31

Veg mate ... what can I tell ya ... me spy system ain't what it used to be! Nothing is, these days... :(

I suspect that Alky has made more comebacks than Elizabeth Taylor. All roads lead to Port Morbid...
