The Albino Ratless Rat
I know this was posted earlier somewhere. The white tailed ratless 767 operated by QF, is that in fact an ex AN aircraft with a rego change.
If so why VH-NOA Could this in fact be a cruel kick'em in the guts dig at AN. VH-NOA could this spell - NO Ansett ? Just a thought. |
Haven't seen NOA, but BZI is flying around whitetail with Qantas titles.
|
Perhaps the pax board two by two.
Kermie  |
VH-NOA has been leased by Qantas from Ansett Worldwide(AWAS).Nothing to do with Ansett Australia. The entire flight crew are contract personel from AWAS as well. they would be the people advertising the week after Ansett Australia crashed and burned. There were a number of aircraft on Ansett Australia's fleet own by AWAS along with a number for other leasing companies. The boarding calls on these particular QF flights include this infomation as for any charter flight covering RPT flights. Hope this helps to clear it up.
They are neither AN or QF crews/aircraft. |
Beg to differ. Paxed PER - SYD the other day on a 'white tail' and the hosties were indeed ex-AN.
|
Yes Lambsie, but they are now AWAS crew as that is what the wet lease stipulates. Lease is only until enough B737-800's arrive to provide sufficient capacity.
|
The registration is just a coincidence.
VH-NOA has been with AWAS/Nordstress for a long time, flying for many Airlines, including (but not only) Vietnam Airlines and recently Kenya Airways. |
Lucky I checked!
I was all set to jump in & say "It wasn't NOA it was NOE!", but I see NOA was indeed with VN. Did NOE ever fly with them or am I just getting confused in my old age? Anyway, I'm laughing on the inside when I hear QF using ex VN aircraft. At least the QF pax know what to do with the lids on the dunny....eeeuuuooowww!!!!  |
Buster,
R-E-L-A-X................ VH-NOE was also with Vietnam Airlines. Among its other tours it has been with Air Namibia, Air Seychelles, Egyptair and Britannia. Best regards, "lame" :D |
Ahh Britannia, where you get 292 seats on a 762!!
Thanks LAME...I mistakenly took a Viagra & laxetive together....I didn't know if I was coming or going.... :D :D  |
And 326 in a 763. And you don't want to know what happens when the aircraft are configured for the hadj flying.
|
I think I'll run a book on how many seats Britannia would put on the A380. First prize is an upgrade to First class on Bitannia! ;)
I think they'd get 800 pax, an 650 would get their bags!!! :D :D |
Speaking of cramped configurations, I read recently that Condor has 170 seats in its A320-200's.
Now how do you get THAT many seats into an A320?   |
That's not that bad, given that the A320 takes 150 in a 2 class config.
Max capacity is 179 single class! Cheers, Justin |
