they are to operate a couple of singapores 777
the first run is likely to be on the sydney - hong kong sector
standby for more runs in the near future.

Lima, I think that you are having us on! Surely, Impulse would use the B1900 for any of its "proposed" international flights? :D

Hardon deGeare 8th Nov 2001 02:46

Oh, this is a beauty...

Did this actually come off any "press" or have you been talking to the Townsville refuellers again?

All stations to central:
Sy-Wlm-Tre-Pmq-Ch-Cg-Bn-Lhi-Nf-etc

Time to change the blades.

Okay, so Impulse compete head - to - head with Qantas (to whom they are contracted for 10 years) on the Syd - Hkg run.

Now that makes sense . . . . !!??

Lurk R 8th Nov 2001 03:31

Maybe the post about a year ago regarding Impulse pilots getting space shuttle endorsements wasn't as strange as it sounded!!! :D

Buster Hyman 8th Nov 2001 03:35

Oh right. And Gerry's the new airport manager at HKG....

lackov 8th Nov 2001 05:00

C'mon guys, wake up and smell the coffee?? ;)

FullScale 8th Nov 2001 07:32

'twas I that informed you all of the Space Shuttle scenario some time ago.
To think that you laughed at me!
Who's laughing now? My mate the refueller at Townsville has a mate who is off to Cape Canaveral next week.

just heard that in fact impulse are going to operate some of the international routes for qantas,
qantas management are worried about the cost of getting there low cost operation up and making it profitable
like in my last post they look likely to acquire some of singapore's 777's,unfortunately the deal to acquire the A340 feel through as these aircraft ended up in the heart of asia.
standby for further information regarding the introduction of these widebody jets

:p :p :p

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't think I've laughed so much in all my life! Wait till i tell the girls in the galley!

What next - the A380's coming to Impulse as well?

Got news for anyone thinking along Impulse and International...whilst it is possible, they are FAR MORE (and can I say that again) FAR MORE likely to get AWAS to start up the Australian Airlines operation as opposed to say us 717 and 1900 people...

Maybe I'm wrong (be ******ed if I am though), but - I mean - 777's?

Me thinks this rumour generated by the the very same people who made the Tupolev press release...

Now THAT I could believe!!! ;) ;) ;)

kuldalai 8th Nov 2001 16:21

Don't think so with QF starting up Australian Airlines and Impulse relying on QF for their revenue via the contract domestically on a day to day basis. (don't bite the hand that feeds you).
Thought previous post on another thread said AN Int'l operation in flight paths were worthless as an asset as they belonged to Australia as a country not Ansett.

This would appear so as with demise of AN Int'l flying into Hkg ,it appears that QF in their latest timetable have increased total Aust/Hkg flights from 49 to 52 flights per week.
Flights per week:
Sector Before 28/10 Now
Qld / Hkg 9 10
Syd / Hkg 14 14
Mel / Hkg 12 14
Per / Sin / Hkg 14 14
No doubt former AN Int'l entitlements have been taken up on other routes by other Int'l
carriers.
