First Impressions??

Ok, here's a question for all u GA employers, and others in the know out there... .What do u like to see when a 250 odd hour bloke/gal walks in to see u for the first time, wanting that illustrious flying job?. .I've heard mixed reviews from shirt and tie, to casual, or even just pilot attire minus the epaulettes.. .So what do u think?? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

cheers. .giddy

A neat professional appearance appropriate to the climate etc. Pilot shirt, clean ironed slacks, polished shoes is fine.

Very important: A knowledge of the operation and aircraft is essential!!!

Very important: 200 hours does not give you the knowledge or experience to tell the interviewer how to run his business or operate his aircraft. Plan carefully and ask sensible questions about your prospective employer and his operation. That usually shows you have carried out research.

Think and plan statements and answers that demonstrate your knowledge of the aviation industry. Safety, legislation, aircraft types, regional demographics of his operation. But don't be a biggot or know it all.

Above all, be relaxed, honest and don't hog the interview!

Good luck!

Im a little different to most people in that it dosent bother me to much what there wearing (I once had a guy ask me for a job after he finished laoding catle and was still coverd in ****) I look more at personality and how they are going to fit in.

I think it has a lot to do with confidence ,if some one cant walk up and say hello my name is such and such with out breaking into a sweat and stumbling through thier words how are thay going to tell a 130 kg truck driver that is pissed that he cant get on the aircraft because he is intoxicated.

well thats how lokk at it anyway

also i cant teach someone not to be shy but i can give them a lesson on how to iron a shirt
