New A$250m Airline Venture
 

I was going to nip over from Blighty and invest some of my hard earned cash in a new airline. Had a chat with Sir Dickie who said to beware "they don't like foreigners sticking their nose into their perfect aviation industry" and "have a look at pprune to see their attitude".

Well I am shocked your second biggest airline in administration and your largest with heavy UK ownership. must be a place for me here!!!!

Alas pprune has showed you don't want jobs with new starters you would (mostly) like to live in bygone days working for a complete shambles of a company which was raped by foreign owners (luckily not Brits).

I will keep my money and jusy hope that my friend Dickie is lucky enough to survive the backstabbing from the AN lovers out there.

Raffles dear boy, it would not be safe to assume that all of us colonial oiks are still just emerging from the trees.

The local Oz airline of which you make mention was once a giant oak and if I may mix some metaphors, tempered in the cauldron of Oz culture.

It was brought down by the greed of those who learnt their lessons in the Motherland and adjacent countries at the feet of the Trade Unions and other great dissemblers, duplicitors and opportunists that the Motherland seems to produce in abubdance.

Real ozzers are and rightly so, very suspicious of anyone from "there".

Raffles - the second biggest airline here in Australia is Virgin Blue and it is NOT IN ADMINISTRATION ! and if you think 25% ownership of Qantas is "heavy UK ownership" then you have been hit with a bigger IDIOT STICK than I first suspected.

Torres I think you will find that in order to make lots of money I ensure all my ventures have a non-union work force, so I won't be joining that union movement you mention. I would however love one of those $10 tickets (only in first class though)

Gaunty, could you please explain why you are suspicious of anyone willing to invest large sums of cash into what can only be considered a cross between the USA and UK (using only the bad bits of either)?

Also out of interest what is a "real ozzer", my understanding of that would be our Aboriginal types. Might I suggest that you are of English decent and ventured to Australia from choice and now get great pleasure from doing what I admit Brits do best COMPLAINING.

Good luck to you all, in this the most trying times for aviation employee's (this even extends to Bulldog & Tool Time Two, who must remove their keys before sitting down).
