Jobs at Air Nelson???

Hey all

I heard a rumour that 10 pilots from Air Nelson are leaving to take up offers at Origin? Is this true?

Will this mean that some of the contract pilots with Air Nelson will get full time offers?

Does this mean a further 10 pilots to be employed? Even if they are on contract?

Is air Nelson part of Air NZ?

Another Saab rumoured to arrive mid Feb. Will bring the total to 15 Saabs. Will be crewed by Ex. Kendell Saab F/O's. All temps (currently 23 not including Australian F/O's) out on the street by November.

slickrick 18th Jan 2002 02:15

The FO's from kendell are not necessarily going to be EX KD FO's. If any of them have to resign at KD to do a contract in NZ they will be unpacking their bags very quickly. They are waiting for an answer at the moment.

Freedom is 100% ANZ owned.

The 15th SAAB arrives from Scandihoova in late Jan. The 14th is here (NLG ex Aus) soon to undergo a re-fit to give it a standard galley, leather seats etc, and soon after an avionics refit to bring it into line with the rest of the fleet (late APR). The 16th & 17th SAABs who knows?

So far... only 5 of the Temp guys have resigned. Possibly 3 of the permanent also looking across the fence. She's all go in Dodge

Flew with a few Aussies (Hazos & Kendos) a while back, not too bad, and they will get the best of training. It's not the IMC that's the worry, it's the DME steps & terrain..you know, hills!

Albatross 19th Jan 2002 10:45

This will be good. Yeah right, our terrain around airports is a sh*tload worse than across the ditch, ever been into Cairns? As for IMC, NZ has benign weather in comparison to just about everywhere. Never mind........

CT7 19th Jan 2002 12:06

Yup, liked Cairns a lot. Ah yes, the tropics... However do Kends & Hazos fly there (FNQ) or mainly the NSW/VIC/ACT area??
