Where are the Ansett a/c now

Hi all.

Anybody know where the Ansett aircraft are going?

Heard a Ansett 4... callsign flying north out of Oz on Wed 24th at around 0700.

Saw a Bae 146 leaving Brissy today (30th) around 1630.

Saw a Bae 146 fired up in Mel on wed 17th at 1400 and it had a lot of baggage sitting under the a/c. Are Ansett using the 146's?

From what I've seen:-

Syd: A few 737's, about 4 767's and a 747-400.

Bne: Only 2 737's, 1 Bae146 and 1 747-400

Adl: No aircraft left.

Mel: I think around 3 or 4 737's, bunch of CRJ's and around 6 or 7 767's.

Seems to be a few aircraft missing? any ideas?

just curious.

Thanks.

I think the 146's flying are chartered by the pollies for the election. But CZQ is now with Virgin Blue - hybrid paint scheme - for the next 6 months.

There's about three ex-AN 733's here in Christchurch. One is the aforementioned Virgin Blue aircraft, one is now in QF colours and the other is still in AN colours ( bound for QF NZ ops too I think).

Rumours at QF suggest that a 767 is in one of our hangars being painted or having a red tail with a white rat put on the tail or something like that.

Just to get Adl right, there is a 737 on the tarmac today, don't know the rego.

ACMS 31st Oct 2001 10:39

I was in Adl again a week ago and couldn't see any Ansett a/c around. Unless the 737 was in the hanger?

Ten news this morning showed all the A/c being parked in Tucson Arizona, around 10 a day flying in and 100 additions so far. Wonder if any Ansett aircraft are there.
Not that it matters much, but Ansett had around 22 737's and I'm just curious as to where they have all disappeared to.

Heard that BZL and BZG were going to the rat on some sort of contract deal. Vague I know but I was'nt paying a lot of attention at the time. :p

Per Monday morning noticed

1 737 outside
1 146 in hangar
2 767 in hangar

All Skywest a/c off flying except the one I had just arrived in.

P.s. "Heard going north", hasn't AN2 got the East Timor work? Also arn't the 747 SQ property?

Two 767-300 in all white have had a sticker job to show QF, but wont get the red rat treatment. On lease until all the new stuff QF ordered can fill the slots.

They are from Ansett leasing, one is VH-BZI dont know the other.

PS..For those who painted it...does the rego go above or below the windows, or does it rely on which side of the aircraft you do first??

CZA.....on the ground in CHCH
CZK ?...on the ground in CHCH, and in QF colours

The other 763 is VH-NOA

They have both started ops for QF today. They are easily recognisable on QF schedules because they are listed as non-Qantas operated flights but with domestic flight numbers (ie: with the blue triangle as opposed to the red triangle)

ACMS 2nd Nov 2001 05:47

So who are flying the 767's leased by QF? QF crews or Ansett?

Where is CHCH?

Yes the An 747-400's are owned by SQ and as of 2 days ago where still sitting in BNE and SYD.

The aircraft I heard going North may have been a Timor flight but it had a 4 series flight number? not a normal flight number, more like a ferry number?
