Darwin's Not The Tower Party
Well folks, it had to happen. Osama may have stopped the use of the usual venue but that won't stop the fun. The place to be is the Aviation Institue from 1800hrs onwards, Friday March 15th. Food - BBQ by the Institute Staff at $5.00 per head for meat and salads. Drink - ATC will place some money over the bar, consider asking your companies and friends to do the same. Events - Farewell to Peter 'fiegs' Fiegehen as he takes a promotion and posting to a flying safety position in Williamtown. The 'Fork-Up' award for ATC faux-pas's over the last few months. Please pass the word around the aviation community, all are welcome. If someone from each company could email me or place a post with proposed numbers, it would make things easier for everyone. I expect that the ATC Complaints booth will be open for business as usual.

Should be a blast. Door prize is return airfares to Broome. What else could one ask for on a friday, free beer (initially), cheap BBQ, a chance to put a face to a voice. See you at six.. .. .Nice to see you back on PPRUNE RTB RFN.

Huge party and a great venue. Thanks to those who put in the work to inspire and organise it and to the person who was listening - to permit my short indulgence. Six weeks to go but I would like to say that I am saddened to leave behind the best team and the best ATC experience. The pilots, the weather, the environment, the system, the frustrations and the wheeling and dealing in approach when the whole world suddenly goes crazy - magic. Enough - . .Cheers, Thanks (g'day). .Fiegs. . . . [ 15 March 2002, 21:25: Message edited by: FEEEGS ]

Looking through the Rogets I cannot find clusterf*ck as a synonym of magic (think back to Pitch Black 2000 - a lot of water has passed under the bridge since but - YOU were amazed that no one hit Terra Australis or each other. Better management in the last 14 months might be a factor in the improvement).. .. .3. Hope the party was a hoot and everyone bonded sans politics (or the chief organiser/worker being the subject of a disciplinary investigation ala 2001).. .. .4. Good luck with the new job - next stop the ATSB! . .. .BTW WTF are you doing up at 7.30AM after a TWR party or did you go all night??. . . . [ 15 March 2002, 22:30: Message edited by: The Crimson Fruitbat ]

Glad to hear the party was half OK. Im sure it will be a day or so until the real juicy stories come out.. .. .Best of luck in the new position FEEEGS. Hope that extra tiny thin stripe doesn't bring too much extra responsibility. The time and effort you put into making darwin ATC a better and safer place for all didn't go unnoticed. Thanks.. .. .Good Luck and keep in touch. .. .Rueffy
