Why all the F/A Threads?
Just curious, not intending to start anything.
As mentioned on another closed thread, did you lot get banned from the F/A forum??
FROM DOMESTOS:-
"This thread was ultimately destined to be moved away from the Cabin Crew area...so any fleeting moment that it would stay for more than one post was too good to be true...we as QF crew can be certain that we will never be able to post there ever again. "
Just curious and if you were serious Domestos, why the ban?

j3, As has been said before.
You are right,it does not help us when you get people posting comments like defcon4

jj,
I wasn't questioning the right of the FA's to be here, I'm not one of those. I jsut thought I have seen a fair few more threads than normal on here, it really was an innocent question.

The truth of the matter is that the moderator for the Cabin crew forum has historically been unable to cope with what he/she has described as our "Australian style" of debating.
So most [all?] Australian cabin crew threads are moved here where they employ a less fragile flavour of moderator.
Something to do with the "Marquess of Queensberry rules" or lack of perhaps?

Clarification 4 PiperCub
1.You are not dumb, just the question
2.You get people like Backseat Driver who start making things personal by name calling
3.The question can be perceived by some as inflammatory.
4.With a little looking around the answer becomes obvious. That is the person looking after the CC forums cant deal with Australian humour or debating style.
It is a thread of little interest to most. After a little bit of name calling and interjection by the usual suspects it will run its course and close.....quickly

Why all the F/A Threads?
Hi j3pipercub, just saw your question here.
CC Forum Mods: 1 bloke and 2 women, 1 UK national, 1 ItaloFrench and 1 Dutch-Norwegian. All of us employed in the cabin with major non-Brit carriers. A lifetime of enjoying cabin work has left all of us pretty thick skinned and with a fully functioning sense of humour.
No idea what Marquess of Queensberry rules are, but we certainly don't employ them on the CC Forum.
Between the 3 of us we have long experience with Australian CC threads. Some of it good, some of it less so.
Virgin Blue and Virgin Australia threads seldom form a problem, and when they do, the posters respond to moderation.
Qantas threads on the other hand, invariably deteriorate into petty mud-slinging, name calling and personal attacks rather than a debate on the issues at hand.
The people posting on these threads respond to moderation by stepping up their childish tactics. A frequently trotted out argument to justify their scumlike behaviour is "You Mods don't understand our unique Ozzie brand of humour and forthrightness".
After many years of failing to educate a small but vocal number of Qantas FAs away from their garbage-output, we have asked the OzMods to host Qantas FA threads.
Which they have gracefully agreed to.
Robust debate =
Sub-intelligent blanket aggression =
Hope this clears it up.

I mentioned something like this on another thread
IMHO, QF LH crew have had an attitude that dates back way before I joined the Company. Any young pilot joining the QF is initially mystified as to why the CC act the way they do, particularly when they observe the relationship between pilots and CC on most other airlines. Eventually though, you just get worn down.
Getting SH crew on to the regional LH routes was a breath of fresh air, now they are gone. That is by the by however.
IMHO, QF LH cabin crew, in days gone by saw themselves as an elite group. With the competition for the job and the qualifications many of them held, they could be forgiven for thinking that way.
If you look at the splintering of all QF CC these days you see a much different story.
The Old Guard, who probably had one of the best jobs in the world back in the 80's and early 90's, (better in some respects than the pilots who only flew one fleet and were limited to the destinations on that fleet), have seen their numbers, destinations and perks dwindle under constant attack from Qantas IR, their consultants and other CC groups.
As an outsider, I can see why they are angry and combatative on this forum. I don't have an answer for them because I think the horse has bolted, but that is my take on why it is so.

Scumlike Behaviour
Dont know what "scum" means in the northern hemisphere. But here in Australia it has certain connotations that one would assume are inappropriate for the hallowed halls of PPrune.Perhaps the PPrune Mods are lowering their standards to those of the ones they are most critical.
This so called scumlike behavior relates to around 10 posters.Hardly a cross section indicative of the other 4500 hard working professional longhaul crew.
The LH CC relationship with pilots was forged in the 70s and 80s when the QF SkyGod was born.Experiences with some of these swine(Kicking CC off Crew transport because they were 2 minutes late)has carried over to the present day.
I find todays younger pilots a breath of fresh air.Generally better educated, less homophobic and definitely less misogynistic than their forebears.
There have been faults on both sides. But things appear to be improving.Generally with pilots the bigger the aircraft the worse the attitude.
The Airbus 300 guys and the 767 pilots are a pleasure to fly with.Definitely better CRM.Read some of the QF pilot comments regarding CC and you soon get the picture.

Australian Men
Australian men in general dont relate well to each other.Putting Australian men in an aluminium tube with a flight deck door was always going to be a recipe for disaster
Those in front of the door only ever emerge when they want food,a bonk,a pee or to get off the aircraft
